Passages

passage refers to many things: a portion of text, the shift from text to object, or the more general shift of rigid certainty about something to the acceptance of fluidity and exception.



i began making these in 2014 and haven't really stopped. the passages are hand-cut from single 24" x 36" sheets of mylar. each sheet takes approximately 12 hours (and 15 exacto blades) to complete. the source text varies from piece to piece. multiple sheets can be connected to form varying dimensions of finished works.

variations of this piece are fully customizable and are available for special order. (i find them to be wonderful alternatives to window curtains.)
